Getting Started
When we received our script we realized that it required a lot of changes. As student producers we have limited resources and some of the special effects that the original script called for were not feasible given our tight production and post-production schedule.
However, it was important to us to keep the themes of the film intact. We removed and added things until we found solutions that not only satisfied us but also kept the essence of the film.
While in the process of script revision, we checked out equipment from Temple University's equipment office. We made sure to have extra batteries, confirmed that audio equipment worked, and acquired multiple SD cards because one can never be too careful.

While inspecting our equipment, Jojo showed off her skills when she folded a light reflector in one swoop!
(Resume worthy if you ask us)
We then began to visualize our story through storyboards and shot lists. It is so important to have these things prepared before you start filming.
Filming days are always hectic but with an organized storyboard and shot list you will make your life just a bit easier!
Casting
The task to find our cast was next on our list. We were searching for our Connor, Abigail, Patrick, and Jason.
We posted our casting call, crossed our fingers and patiently waited for audition tapes. After watching multiple applicant's tapes, we decided that Nathan Buck would be our Connor.

Truthfully Nathan is what we pictured Connor to look like and he felt relatable. In fact all of our actors fit their characters really well. They did a great job in preparing for their roles and they made us excited to being filming.

Moving Forward
Around this time we decided that it would be best to create a GoFundMe page. As student producers we had a budget of $0, but we needed props, food, and we payed for our actors transportations. Thanks to our supporters we were able to raise $450! We truly were so thankful when we saw the amount but our family and friends came through to support our passion.
Once our casts and our script were concrete we got down to business and began rehearsal!

We held all of our rehearsals through Zoom meetings since actors had different call times and crew members joined at varying times. Zoom truly was such a helpful tool during our pre-production stage.
In total we had 3 Zoom rehearsals with our crew and cast. We gave notes where they needed to be given, and then we were ready to be begin filming!
